Since 1997
Founded by Fanie Olivier alongside his eldest son, Francois, in 1997, Agri-Tech Distributors epitomizes the essence of a family-led enterprise, formally incorporating on January 1, 1999. The addition of the youngest son, Marcel, in September 2005, further solidified our foundation built on strong family values and a unified vision.
Starting as a modest family-owned entity, Agri-Tech Distributors has evolved significantly, expanding its operations and reputation within the industry. Central to our ethos is a commitment to excellence and innovation. Early on, we dedicated ourselves to the meticulous redesign of hoses, ensuring that our products not only surpass quality standards but also offer competitive pricing. This endeavour highlights our relentless pursuit of product excellence and service orientation.
Over the years, Agri-Tech has not only kept pace with industry advancements and shifting customer demands but has also broadened its product offerings. Today, our portfolio includes a diverse array of items, from clamps and petroleum products to industrial liquid metering equipment, among others. This expansion reflects our adaptability and foresight in catering to the evolving needs of our clientele.
At Agri-Tech, we view our clients not merely as customers but as strategic partners. This perspective is a testament to our belief in building enduring relationships based on mutual respect, trust, and shared goals. As we look to the future, Agri-Tech remains dedicated to fostering these partnerships, guided by our foundational family values and a commitment to excellence in all we do.
Fanie Olivier
Founder
Fanie joined the Andrag/Agrico group in January of 1964 and eventually moved to the Omega – Barfel group regional manager of the PVC hose division.
He was responsible for the Western, Southern and Northern Cape as well as Namibia. Eventually, the group was unbundled during 1995, and Megaflex (formerly Omega Barfel) moved to a Murray & Roberts subsidiary. Their style of management and “culture” did not suit him and during 1997 he decided to do his own thing. In September 1997 his oldest son Francois joined him in their new venture, and as they say, the rest is history.
Fanie also loves the outdoors, 4 x 4 excursions and riding his motorbike.
Francois Olivier
Sales Director
Francois Olivier, the oldest brother, joined his father during September 1997 and drilled PVC drainage pipes on a farm outside Durbanville. He has been instrumental in progressing the company from working out of the garage, through to a store in Montague Gardens during January 1999. From there the business has grown in leaps and bounds and Francois is now the Sales Director of the company.
Francois loves mountain biking and spending time with his wife and 3 sons.
Marcel Olivier
Operations Director
Marcel Olivier, the younger brother, started work in the IT industry after school. It did not take long for the family to realize that additional hands were needed in the company, and Marcel joined in 2005 as Store Foreman. Over the years that followed he progressed to join the sales team, and now, since becoming a shareholder and director in 2013, he operates daily as Logistics Manager & Operational Director.
Keeping a healthy balance between work and play, Marcel values friends and family, and enjoys the gym, running and mountain biking.
